Etiquette & Dog Poo

Etiquette

We want our city to be a safe and fun place for all dogs and their guardians. Please be respectful of the local bylaws (dogs on leads on public footpaths next to the road, for example) and be mindful and responsible for how your dog behaves around people and other dogs. The impact of not being responsible for your dog’s behaviour can have catastrophic effects on people and other dogs.

Dogs in training or ‘on duty’ (eg guide dogs and other assistance dogs) should not be petted or distracted whilst working.

Dog Poo

Always a sticky subject! Poo is a non-dog owners’ favourite criticism and bugbear of the majority of responsible dog owners who do “Bag and Bin”.

Brighton Dogwatch asks all dog owners to clear up dog poo wherever it is left. On streets, paths, woods and fields.

Brighton Dogwatch also campaigns for more or bigger dog poo bins and regular maintenance/emptying of existing facilities. After all we should help those who are responsible.
